Cats cats cats!

If you are a reader of this blog, you can see I love cats. :)
I went to an exhibition of Kuniyoshi Utagawa. He is a famous painter of Japanese ukiyo-e style in edo period.

When it comes to paintings, we tend to think about oil paintings or water colors. However his woodblock prints and paintings were great! Kuniyoshi's subjects include many genres: beautiful women, Kabuki actors, animals, childrens and landscapes.

Of course, I like his cats works. I enjoyed his work and shopping at the museum store. I bought many cats postcards there even though I am allergic to cats. achoo!

Omotesando

The year is coming to an end... I finished my last work of the year two days ago. Usually I get a feeling of release from job obligation, but this year I have a lot of things to do such as meeting friends, making application papers and reading books and making some paintings. I know I tend to procrastinate, so I gotta do against my laziness.

Today I met with my co-worker to have lunch in Roppongi, then I went to Omotesando to make my hair cut. Seasonal illuminations were very fantastic. After that I went to Shinjuku to drink with other friends. I enjoyed noodles served hot in a pot and beers as well.

a Christmas present

Even on Christmas day, I worked for 12 hours. After that, I got home and  realized a small parcel from Great Yarmouth.  It was from Pat and Peter. Their letter reminds me of good days in Norfolk. Thank you so much, Pat and Peter. I always appreciate their kindness. I miss you very much. If I have a chance to go to the UK, I would like to meet them, again.

it's cold today...

Today was my day off. So I went to Ikebukuro to take some English lessons at EV. I was impressed by teacher's preparation for me. Sensei-Arigato!

After that I enjoyed shopping at my favorite store. I bought a pair of boots and a skirt. Because of the consecutive Christmas holidays, there were tons of people at department stores and stations. I do not like crowded Tokyo. I prefer to take my day off on weekday.

Today, it was very cold outside. The picture above is my cat named MEOW-chan. Sometime I would like to become like her always being inside my house.

Anyway, Merry Christmas! :)

ceramics

Today I've got a parcel from Scandinavia, again. A friend who is studying ceramics in Finland gave me these tiny houses as a Christmas present. I love the texture and transparent glazing. I was very excited and happy to be given this. These houses reminds me of snowy white scenery in Helsinki.

I am thinking to send something to her. So, what is good ?  My paintings, Japanese foods, medicines... I am going to look for something tomorrow. :)

Swedish candies

When I got home, I was surprised at a parcel from Sweden. Inside was Swedish candies. I was collecting SAS(Scandinavian Airlines) points, so I got this sweets. Have you ever tried Scandinavian candies like this? I like HARIBO's golden bears very much. At first I thought it is almost the same judging from its appearance, but the taste is far away from German one. Black one which contains licorice is not a food for human, I think. Whenever I had something like this, I was about to vomit. Anyway we Japanese have Natto and other weird foods, so I cannot say anything about this food.

Lunch at SHIZEN cafe in Sendagaya

I met a friend in Sendagaya and had lunch with her. The cafe we went was very good. I enjoyed the atmosphere and their food as well. Actually I love greasy foods such as hamburgers, pizza and french fries. However, sometimes I would like to have something healthy like today's lunch.

I hadn't been to Sendagaya area before. There were some nice furniture shops, book stores and cafes there. If I have a time, I would like to go there, again.

human decision making

I do not watch TV so much, but I like this TV program. She is a psychologist named Sheena Iyengar at Columbia University. She teaches us how to make decision properly using examples of market and history.

Watching this, I can understand the theory of choosing. However it is very difficult to follow her method in real life ....I suppose.

a busy day

I had a quite busy day, today. I am working as a pharmacist at a small pharmacy in Itabashi. There are some dermatology near there, and one of them is really crazy for stupid prescriptions. I cannot understand why she prescribes too much. To be honest, I think patients cannot use the ointment properly because it is too much. In addition, we pharmacists need much time to fill the complicated prescription. Then patients need to wait for the medication ready. I think this is what we call vicious circle.

Anyway, tomorrow is my day off. :)
I would like to relax and spend my time to study English.

my new cap

I bought a new cap at IKEBUKURO PARCO. Since I spent winter time in Finland, I have been using a hat or a cap whenever I go outside. Now I have more than five hats. It is very difficult to find a favorite one at stores.

It is getting colder here in Tokyo. I hope I would not catch a cold. I am going to use this cap from tomorrow.
