Ramen!

It is getting cold in London.
I am not a big fan of Ramen, but I sometimes miss Japanese food.
So, I went to a new Ramen restaurant near Piccadilly Circus with my friend.
I know here is not japan, so I should not have expected too much.
Anyway, I enjoyed Ramen in London. :)

My Personal Refrections on...

I've been here in London for four months.
I was looking forward to MA Curating Course at Chelsea College because I really wanted to study and experience curatorial practices in the UK.
However, the contents of the programme has totally changed, since the ex-course director had suddenly left the Chelsea.
I am understanding the situation of the school, but I am not satisfied with what they are offering us now. It is very Art theory (there is no exhibition making through my core-course!!) and many subjects are related to racism, national identity and urban development, which I have no idea at all.
Thinking about my English, I still cannot fluently discuss those issues with native speakers and other European students.
I do not know what to express my feeling in English, but I am sunk in apathy.
Anyway, I should be optimistic and keep practicing English!
I am going to write something here if I have a time. 

Amu pudding

I love pudding very much. I like any kind of pudding such as custard pudding, rice pudding, creamy pudding and Yorkshire pudding. In addition, I like to find and buy new good sweets on the web. This is because recently I have been busy and it is difficult to travel to anywhere or go shopping.

The photo is named "Amu pudding". It is very famous and known as being hard to order because the number they make is limited. Luckily, last week I could order it by phone and received on Saturday. It was made in Hokkaido which is located in the northern part of Japan and the ingredients are very fresh and using a local speciality. The taste was simple but very rich. Actually I had never had pudding like this before. I am afraid I will eat too much and put on weight.

Today I am going to introduce one of my lovely cats, "mya-chan". I have 7 cats in my house. At first I did not like cats, I preferred small animals such as hamsters , turtles and goldfish. But about 10 years ago, she came to my garden and had 3 kittens. They were very cute, so my family decided to take care of them. That was the beginning of having pets. She is getting old now. As you can see, she is always putting her tongue out. Even though she looks stupid, I love mya-chan very much. 

Afternoon tea

Today I went to Shinjuku to meet my friend from Nagano. We have been knowing each other more than 10 years. However we cannot meet frequently since she moved to Nagano. We had lunch at a cafe in Kita-sando. Then we moved to Shinjuku and I guided her shopping. I felt really tired seeing many people there. In addition, it was very difficult to find our seats at any place because of terribly over-crowded.

Last Thursday I went to Tokyo station to have lunch with my mother.
We had oyako-don(I do not know the word in English. a bowl of rice topped with baked chicken and eggs. ) It was really good and we became very full. However as you know we can have sweets even though we have had plenty. After having oyako-don, we went to my favourite place 'Tsujiri 都路里' to have greentea  parfaits. We had a good time at the restaurant. :)

my nephew

I have changed my working place. As you can imagine, it was very hard to get used to the new place even though the things to do was the same as the previous one; filling prescriptions.

I felt exhausted on Friday. After coming back home, I was surprised that my 6 years old nephew was staying at home. Most women love children, however I am not good at taking care of them. I think it is because I am still single and do not have children.

In spite of my feeling to children, my nephew seems to like me... 

The Iron Lady

Last Sunday, I watched this movie with my friends. I was impressed by the actress; Meryl Streep. Her way to speak was like the real Margaret Thatcher and even the face looked like her. I am not interested in politics and government, but there are many people who have different view of life and I think her enthusiasm for changing British Politics was great. It is sad now she is suffering from dementia.

Finished

My interview by Skype was finished last night. It took over 30 minutes. I had prepared many  answers in advance, but I could not do well. (T T) I was very nervous!!! The number of interviewers was three. They asked me many questions about Japanese exhibitions. I should have researched them more for the interview.

One of my favorite recent exhibition was "my way" by Jean Michel Othoniel at Hara Art Museum in Tokyo. I love his Italian glass works. I just think it amazing and beautiful. Seeing the inside of the glass, I felt it was like a small cosmic space existing in front of me.

my work

Now I am making portraits for the exhibition in March. I am not sure whether I can make it or not. I will do my best. Is there anyone you know in my work?

There is no relation with this painting, but there were many things troubled me in February. My boss quit and left the pharmacy suddenly. Following him, there were three pharmacists quit by the end of February. I think the day workers at the pharmacy will be patients comes soon. Anyway be optimistic! ガンバレ私！（笑）

Agatha Christie's Poirot

I am very sorry I did not write this blog more than 2 weeks. I've been busy for working. There are many patients suffering from colds and flu everyday. I think it is natural, because it is cold and very dry. Anyway, I hope everyone gets better!

This week I enjoyed watching "Agatha Christie's Poirot". I like American drama like ER, Lost and Beverly Hills 90210, but I prefer detective dramas. Oui!

application

Thanks to friends and teachers at EV, I could get out of my funk. I am sorry I did not write new blogs recently.

Now I am struggling with my application for a graduate school in the UK. On Thursday, I had an advisory interview, and showed my application. The interviewer told me "It is a bitch!". Never mind! I think I can make better one from now.

I am going to introduce one of my cats. He is "Shijimi". I named him Shijimi. Because  the color looks like Japanese shellfish called Shijimi. He is a younger brother of Shimajiro. So his mother is Shimajiro-haha. :) He is not tasty, but I like the real shijimi miso soup.

I am still being in a funk...

Last Sunday, I met my old friend and had some drinks with. He should have been more considerate toward me. I know he had no intention to hurt my feelings, but I am still being in a funk thinking of his word and my situation now. Anyway, many people are helping me to study English (I appreciate their kindness), so I am going to think my life positively and overcome something which interferes me.

I realized writing and organizing my thought was more effective than thinking by myself at home. Thank you, blogger! I hope this will lead to break the vicious circle.

I just want to say “クソっ！” very loudly.

new year's resolution

Today is Jan 4th! How fast time flies. I've been busy recently. My grandma and my brother's family came and stayed at our house for three days to cerebrate new year. Masaya(my younger bro.) is married with two children. So my nephews came here as well. They are still young and selfish and very very noisy! I felt weary after taking care of them.

Anyway I have to change my mind for this new year! One thing I would like to do is studying English more. Next is not procrastinating! The last is being optimistic! I am not sure I could do all of them, but I do my best!

I am not doing anything new or going anywhere. There is nothing that is going to change. I hope it will be a better year.

Yesterday I ate soba; Japanese noodles traditionally eaten on new years eve. And today I had osechi; Japanese traditional new years food. Relatives were gathering to our house to celebrate new years coming. 

Not my relatives, but cats came here as well. I gave them my red sweater. and I made windshields around their basket. I know I am stupid, but I hope they like it.
